Marietta 4-H members competed in Love County Talks and Demos tonight.  In Senior Division Emily Faulkenberry received Blue and Grand for her non-food demonstration and Taryn Blankenship received blue and grand for her Food demonstration. Marietta FCCLA officers are attending FCS Day at the Capitol to advocate for CareerTech, Family and Consumer Sciences Education and FCCLA.  Officers will be visiting with Senators and Representatives from across the state to tell why FCS and FCCLA have impacted their lives.

Congratulations to Amanda Faulkenberry, she is Marietta high school’s teacher of the year! She was voted teacher of the year by the high school staff. Mrs Faulkenberry teaches FCCLA, career tech, culinary arts among a host of other classes. Mrs Faulkenberry is also a successful 4-H clubs and a sewing club. She is always willing to go above and beyond what is expected for her students as well as the high school staff. She is an amazing teacher which is evident by how successful her programs are, and how much her students, past and present, love her! Great job, you deserve this honor!

Congratulations to Robin Mayes, Marietta School Librarian, as Elementary Teacher of the Year! Fellow staff describe her as hardworking, sweet, reliable, dedicated and organized and related that she always goes above and beyond to plan engaging lessons and activities for her class. Students look forward to going to her class. Mrs. Mayes manages the library in not only the Primary/Elementary building but Middle and High School. She is a very busy staff member! She has taught for 33 years with 11 being at Marietta. Congratulations to Mrs. Mayes all staff being announced for Teacher of the Year at our other campuses!

Parents can attend the meeting either at 5:15 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. We will be discussing the Reading Sufficiency Act Law which allows your student to either promote to 4th grade or be retained.

Marietta Choir hosted the 2022 Circle the State With Song Tuesday night, February 8. Around 90 students from area schools were selected to perform. Marietta had 10 Elementary students and 9 Middle School students perform. Thank you to our awesome music leaders, LaWanna Reed and Courtney Starsick Anderson for their leadership and love of music.
