Congratulations to Bonnie Petersen! She was selected as the Primary School Teacher of the Year for 2022-2023. Ms. Petersen teaches Art to our Primary, Elementary, and Middle School students. She brings a lot of enthusiasm to her classroom and helps grow a love of Art in all of her students. She does an amazing job!
Congratulations to Ryan Gibbs for being selected Marietta Middle School Teacher of the Year. Mr. Gibbs has taught math for 16 years with the last five being at Marietta Middle School. He currently teaches 7th and 8th grade and does an outstanding job!!!

Congratulations Maverick McClendon, Special Ed Director and Marietta Elementary Teacher has been honored as Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2022-23 school year. Mr. McClendon graduated from Marietta schools and attended college at SOSU. He brings great enthusiasm to his job and works diligently to ensure the success of his students.
Attending the field trip for the Sequoyah Book Club for Middle School were Brian Fernandez, Kamara Bertrand and Aubry Chill. Eligible but unable to attend was Benito Maldonado.
Several students, who met the Sequoyah Book Club reading goals got to enjoy a day at the Clubhouse in Ardmore. Students getting to attend the field trip included, Chaston Jones, Gavin Kirk, Harper Thogmartin, Lucero Sanchez, Jolie Baker, Austin Chea, Mia Bojorquez, Anali Barron, Akzel Fernandez, Amy Gomez, and Allie Bruce.

State testing for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade has been scheduled on the calendar for April and May. Please be sure and check the school calendar using the website or the school app before scheduling any appointments for your students. We appreciate your help in ensuring your students are present during these very important testing dates.
Nature Club worked hard Monday and Tuesday during recess cleaning out our garden beds getting ready for plants. The meeting was held during school since rain is predicted the rest of the week. Next Nature Club afterschool meeting is planned for Friday, March 24.

Because they read and wrote reports over three Sequoyah books, they'll be having a nice lunch on Friday at LaRoca for their reward! Congratulations to the Middle School teacher of the month, Ryan Gibbs. Mr Gibbs teaches 7th and 8th grade math. His students had these things to say: he is a great teacher and helps you when needed, he makes learning interesting and fun, he makes learning easy and every now and then he cracks a few jokes, he is very nice but you have to be a good student in his class and finally, he will always help you no matter what it is.
