All of these students are qualified for the OSSAA Regional Speech Tournament that will take place in March.
Mrs. Blevins Pre-K class studied space last week. They conducted a science experiment to see who could make their rocket travel the farthest by using straws to blow air. It was out of this world!
Marietta FFA competed in the Fresh County Ag Mechanics Show yesterday and brought home several awards including grand champion project of the show.

Danny Gordon, famous illustrator, spent his day with our elementary students. The students were captivated with his story of how he creates his characters. Students had a lesson on drawing creatively too!

Congratulations to the Marietta High School Choirs today: the Show Choir is State Bound!!! We qualified for State with 6 Superior Ensembles and 7 Superior Solos. We also had 4 Excellent Ensembles and 4 Excellent Solos. The following students competing in State in April are: Ace Austin, Alexis Doby, Alexis Creasman, Brice Carlile, Eva Bucher, Kamarah Bertrand , Rebekah Alberda, Benito Maldonado, Cynthia Lopez, Haylen Lowery, Jariah Sutherland, Melanie Ortiz and Mina Hughes. Middle School students who received Excellent Ratings on Solos were Claire McGehee and Leah Barber.
High School STAR Educator for the month of February is Stacey Roach. Mrs. Roach has been in education for four years and teaching at Marietta High School for two years. Congratulations to Mrs. Roach!

FCCLA officers helped pick-up, organize, and deliver Valentine goodies for all high school students. They were amazing in helping organize lots of balloons, stuffed animals, flower arrangements and candy. Thank you for all your amazing help today.

Congratulations to Juniors Joan Vega and Emily Faulkenberry. Joan and Emily were finalists in this year’s REA Youth Tour Essay Contest and presented their essays at a banquet on February 8th. Joan placed 5th and won a cash prize. Emily placed 2nd and won an all-expenses paid trip to Washington DC this summer. We are very proud of the way Joan and Emily represented Marietta High School and are happy to celebrate their accomplishments with them!
