Marietta high school seniors visited Oklahoma State University-Institute of Technology on Wednesday. They learned of all the different programs offered by the school, such as high voltage lineman, pipeline construction and culinary arts. Campus visits by Marietta high school students are essential for their ICAP (Individual Career Assessment Plan). This helps high school students determine their interests, and how to achieve their academic goals after high school.
Congratulations to Mr Charles Brown, Biology teacher at Marietta high school. He was chosen as Teacher of the Year by the Marietta high school staff. Awesome job!!!

Congratulations to Jennifer Dobbins, 5th Grade Teacher, as Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 20-21 school year. Mrs. Dobbins has been with Marietta for four years and has been instructing for a total of ten years. Many wonderful compliments were paid to Mrs. Dobbins regarding why she deserved to be Teacher of Year including how she has been such an intergral part of the success for the 5th grade this year with two new teachers and a fellow teacher on maternity leave. We know Mrs. Dobbins loves teaching and wants the best for her students. We could not have a better representative for our Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Elementary School Great Education Matters third quarter winner is Jade Stein. Mrs. Stein is completing her fourth year with Marietta Public Schools. She has worked as an aide in the resource room and the library. She will complete her education this spring and hopefully continue with a teaching career here with our school. Her co-workers noted her helpfulness, kindness and positive attitude as reasons to nominate her for this award. Congratulations Mrs. Stein!

Marietta high school Seniors will have an ACT prep session tomorrow, February 25th at 9:00 am in the auditorium. Seniors need to bring their Chromebook or laptop to this session. The ACT test will be administered to the seniors on Tuesday, March 2nd at Marietta high school. Once the students have finished with testing, we will transport the students who are eligible to vote to their polling station via school bus.
