Marietta High School FCCLA members competed in District STAR Events held at Sulphur High School on November 9.
FCCLA STAR Events are competitive events that focus on skills learning Family and Consumer Sciences classes. There are eight STAR Events that begin at the district level. Members who place first or second with a score of 80 or higher advance to the regional competition.
Marietta students competing and placing were:
- Blanca Salazar in Children’s Literature Level 1 placed third
- Jayli Sampson in Creed Speaking Level 2 placed third
- Andrew Perkins in Creed Speaking Level 1 placed second and advanced to regionals
- Devyn Anderson in Cake Decorating Level 2 placed second and advanced to regionals
- Elaina Avirneni in New Member Facts Level 1 placed first and advanced to regionals
Regional STAR Events will be held in Prague on January 31. Regional winners will advance to state competition in March.
