Choir

On April 21, 16 Marietta High School choir students, along with Director Courteney Starsick Anderson, traveled to Shawnee for the OSSAA State Music Contest held on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University.

Competing were four ensembles and nine solos. From the group three solos and two ensembles received superior ratings and medals, and six solos and two ensembles received excellent ratings and certificates.

“Our group brought home a total of 27 state superior medals and 24 excellent certificates,” said Starsick Anderson, “and I am so proud of their hard work and dedication.”

Superior solo recipients were Ace Austin, Alexis Creasman, and Hector Maldonado

Ensembles receiving superior ratings were Rebekah Alberda, Alexis Creasman, Josie Dobbins, Nicole Stewart, Eva Bucher, Melanie Ortiz, Ace Austin, Hector Maldonado, Tanasia Randle, Angel Follis, Colours Starsick, and Mackenzie Kyle for “Walk in Jerusalem” and Rebekah Alberda, Josie Dobbins, Alexis Creasman, Isabel Lopez, Lexi Motes, Melanie Ortiz, Nicole Stewart, Zippora Hill, Angel Follis, Colours Starsick, Eva Bucher, and Mackenzie Kyle for “Shady Grove.”
