On April 11 and 12, Marietta High School Show Choir students traveled to Durant to the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University where they participated in an honor show choir workshop and performance.
The workshop was hosted by Southeastern’s Chorvettes Stageworks Company. The Chorvettes, who are under the direction of Deborah Clements, have long been ambassadors for the university both at home and on tour, includes students with many different majors. The group brings together students from across the campus to share their love for the arts, particularly singing and dancing.
Chorvettes have traditionally performed at events and presented shows on campus. Additionally, the group tours in high schools and other venues across Oklahoma and several neighboring states.
“Our students worked hard and put on a great show,” said their director Courteney Starsick Anderson.
MHS students who participated were Alexis Creasman, Nicole Stewart, Ace Austin, Josie Dobbins, Abygail Barrientos, Tanasia Randle, Melanie Ortiz, Rebekah Alberda, Colours Starsick, Isabel Lopez, Angel Follis, Lexi Motes, Eva Bucher, Mackenzie Kyle, and Roland Peery.
