Marietta students who are active in FCCLA have had a busy February.
First, on February 9, FCCLA officers, including Chapter President Yaslin Sanchez, Vice President of Public Relations Isabella Salas-Garcia, Vice President of Membership Olivia Rutledge, and Vice President of Community Service Emily Faulkenberry attended FCS Day at the Capitol.
While in OKC, the students learned about how groups advocate at the capitol and then had the opportunity to visit with state senators and representatives about Family and Consumer Sciences Education and FCCLA.
February 14 through 18 was National FCCLA week, and Marietta’s chapter celebrated locally with several activities, such as a member appreciation lunch, FCCLA scavenger hunt, and showing appreciation to all the staff and faculty members in the school.
Officers delivered cakes and goody baskets to the teachers’ lounge, as well as cakes to the administration office, cafeteria, and maintenance staff.
The group ended the week by hosting and serving the high school teachers a sit-down luncheon in their honor.
