Marietta High School has announced honor graduates for the Class of 2021, along with dates for baccalaureate and graduation.
Valedictorians include Jayleigh Blevins, Monica Flores, Madison Lemons, Lynnsey Poag, and Kylie Slawson. The class’s salutatorian is Abhi Avirneni. Rounding out the Top 10% are Joseph Higle, Heaven Sustaire, and Hailey DeSilva.
Baccalaureate for Marietta High School seniors is also set for Sunday, May 16 at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the school auditorium. Commencement ceremonies are to be held on Thursday, May 21 at 8 p.m. in McClain Stadium. In case of inclement weather, graduation will be moved to the auditorium.
Both events are open to the public with no policy in place currently for masks or social distancing.
If inclement weather forces the ceremony indoors, seating in the auditorium will allow for each student to have 10 tickets and only ticketholders allowed in the auditorium.
Seniors are asked to report to baccalaureate by 5:15 p.m. and graduation by 7:15 p.m. Students should wear professional attire for both occasions.
“I am so proud of our Class of 2021 graduates,” said Superintendent Brandi Naylor. “They have had so much to overcome in their last two years of high school, but they have not only persevered, they have excelled. They are exceptional young people who will go on to do great things.”
