Amanda Faulkenberry, longtime FCCLA teacher at Marietta High School is one of 45
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Advisers nationwide who will be
honored this year with a Spirit of Advising Award.
Only one adviser per state association is chosen each year. Faulkenberry has been an
FCCLA adviser for more than 20 years and will receive her award at the Oklahoma
FCCLA State Convention in Tulsa, held on April 10. She will also be recognized at the
National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida in July.
The Spirit of Advising Award is an honor recognizes FCCLA advisers who consistently
demonstrate excellence in modeling FCCLA character and integrity to ensure the
success of their students within their classroom and career.
“FCCLA has finally recognized the time investment that Mrs. Faulkenberry makes to
ensure her students are growing and active in the program,” said Superintendent Brandi
Naylor. “We are proud that she is being recognized for her dedication.”
