On Tuesday, February 4, several students from Marietta Elementary and Middle School
choral programs participated in the Region H Circle the State with Song festival and
concert, held at the Jerome Westheimer Center for Performing Arts in Ardmore.
A Tuesday evening concert capped a day of practice with guest clinician Jace Caldwell,
Director of Choral Activities for Bixby Public Schools. The accompanist was Michelle
Mason, Director of Choirs for Lone Grove Public Schools.
For Circle the State with Song, nominated students begin working on music in
September. In October, local directors are allowed to submit nominees to the Oklahoma
Music Educators Association, with only a limited number of students accepted for the
event.
