FCCLA chapters from across the state converged on OKC Riversport recently for a day
of exhilarating fun and camaraderie at the annual Riversport Day event, providing
members a chance to bond outside the classroom and experience the thrills of
whitewater rafting, surfing, and other aquatic activities and enjoy the beauty of
downtown Oklahoma City.
“Riversport Day is a highlight for many of our FCCLA chapters,” said Emily
Faulkenberry, MHS senior and FCCLA State Vice President of Competitive Events. “it’s
a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with each other in a fun and relaxed
setting, while also experiencing the world-class facilities at OKC Riversport.”
Beyond the aquatic thrills of whitewater rafting and surfing, the day also allowed
students to explore the vibrant downtown OKC area.
“This even is more than just a day of fun,” said Aycee Dudley, MHS Vice President of
Membership. “It fosters teamwork, communication, and leadership skills – all essential
qualities for future success.”
