Eleven Marietta students performed recently with the Southeast All-District Honor Choir.
The event was held October 24 at Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s
Montgomery Auditorium.
Students selected to the choirs were Jolie Baker, Brice Carlile, Shawn Vasquez, Eva
Bucher, Ace Austin, Alexis Creasman, Yasmine Flores, Claire McGehee, Haylen
Lowery, Talon Gomez, and Benito Maldonado.
Four of the students received medals for multi-year selection to the choir, including Ace
Austin and Eva Bucher for six years of participation and Alexis Creasman and Claire
McGehee for three years of participation.
Students who are named to the honor choir undergo a rigorous audition process where
they are chosen out of the Southeastern area of the state to participate in the choirs,
one for seventh through ninth grade students and one for tenth through twelfth grade
students.
Music performed in the honor choir concerts is the audition music for the upcoming All-
State Honor Choir audition, which will take place on Saturday, November 2nd, in Ada at
the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center at East Central University. Marietta has 22
Students who will be auditioning for the All-State Honor Choirs.
