At their regular meeting on Monday, January 6, the Board of Education of Marietta Public Schools voted to renew the contract for Superintendent Brandi Naylor.
Using an instrument provided by the Oklahoma State School Boards Association, the Board evaluated Naylor in the areas of management, leadership and product. After the evaluation, which was done in executive session, the board returned to regular session before voting unanimously to extend Naylor’s contract another year.
“We very much appreciate the work that Mrs. Naylor does,” said board member Connie Barker. “She has put together a good team that works to do the best for our students, and we are happy with the place that she has our school in.”
Naylor is currently in her second year as Marietta’s superintendent.
“I am so proud to be allowed to continue to be a part of a district that has so much positive energy and such a bright future,” said Naylor. “I am blessed with a strong team of people who truly have a heart for kids and want the best for our school and community.”
Naylor was employed in Marietta Middle School as a math teacher for three years, beginning in the 1999 school year. After working in Texas, she returned to Oklahoma, serving in the Ardmore City School’s system, becoming Assistant Principal at Ardmore High School and working in that position for two years before returning to Marietta and serving seven years as the middle school principal.
“Mrs. Naylor has so many good leadership qualities that are benefiting our school,” remarked board member Judy Sanchez-Fernandez. “She is a strong leader and it trickles down through the school, making the entire system better. We are grateful to have her at Marietta.”
