Tuesday, November 28, the Marietta Indians hosted the Davis Wolves, and it was a tough night for Coach Kenny Barnes’s team.
After taking a 10-8 lead in the first quarter, the Indians got cold while the Wolves began to heat up. Davis had a 12-point second quarter compared to the Indians’ three points and took a 20-13 halftime lead. The second half was more of the same, and by the final buzzer, the Wolves were up 51-33.
Sophomore Aedan Ellison led scoring for the Indians with 13 points. Luis Garcia had six points, Brian Sanchez five, and Jorge Remis four points.
The Indians fared much better on the road on Friday, December 1 at Ringling.
Against the Blue Devils, the Indians came out firing on all cylinders, taking a 27-5 lead after the first quarter, and then heading into the locker room at the half up 40-10 on their way to a final score of 52-30.
Despite playing only three quarters, Ellison had 30 points, scoring 13 of them in the first quarter.
Sanchez scored six points. Tucker Kirk, Garcia, and Remis had four points apiece. Will Rutledge hit one from beyond the three-point arc, Seth McMillan and Ben Fernandez had two points apiece, and Ryley Dougherty hit a free throw for one point.
