The Marietta FFA chapter traveled to Lakeview Cemetery to pay tribute to our veterans by placing a flag on the graveside of each veteran who served our country.
Paying tribute is important to the chapter because many of our members’ family members have served and are serving in the military and this is a great way to show appreciation for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make for our country.
This year the chapter took two classes to the cemetery. Students were shown the correct way to place a flag for display on the tombstones by American Legion member Allen Woody.
“I love doing this every year because I get to honor my family members who served in the military,” said FFA member Slade Campbell, “and that makes me love what we do ten times more.”
