The Marietta FFA Chapter will be hosting their annual Welder’s Rodeo, also known as The Red River Rumble, on November 16th at the Marietta Ag Building. The participants will be responsible for creating two projects. They will create an H post and a stretch post.
The chapter is excited for this year’s upcoming welders rodeo, which will feature double the number of contestants of last year’s contest.
This year as a new special event, the chapter will be conducting what we call the FlashBack races. The students will get the chance to nominate their Ag Teachers to compete for a chance to win a grand prize.
While the students are welding, safety judges will be there to ensure the students are meeting safety precautions.
Several companies have been invited back, including CM Trailers, Chickasaw Nation, and more that might be future prospective employers for student welders.
“We invite them out to encourage students' future career opportunities for after high school,” said Marietta FFA Advisor Josh Bazor. “There is no better way to meet a future employer than at a competitive event like this.”
The chapter will be providing lunch for all participants, teachers, judges, and sponsors.
The Welder’s Rodeo is held to showcase the skills and talents of each contestant. Not only does this event prepare students for career success but gives bragging rights to whoever wins. May the best team win!
