A banquet was held in honor of the State Champion Marietta High School Girls’ Power Lifting team on Saturday, April 1, at Café Alley in Ardmore.
After a successful season last year, the Lady Indians came back for the 2023 season with huge expectations, and they delivered. Marietta StrongGirls were just two points shy of winning the Southern Regional Large School Girls’ Powerlifting Meet, and won the State Championship Meet on March 6, a first-ever accomplishment for the school.
“This group of ladies has been a huge blessing and has really promoted a change in culture at Marietta High School,” said Athletic Director/Coach Alex Doby.
Doby went on to thank BankFirst, First National Bank, Denise Dollar, and alumni T.J. Riley for their donations that made the celebration possible.
